What Is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is a professional process that restores and revitalizes your vehicle’s clear coat by removing imperfections such as:

  • Swirl marks/ spiderwebbing

  • Fine scratches

  • Oxidation

  • Water spots

  • Holograms from poor polishing jobs

If you’ve noticed these imperfections on your cars’ paint, youre not imagining things and that’s likely clear coat damage, paint correction might be exactly what your vehicle needs.

Our Process:

  1. Deep wash with mechanical and chemical decontaminationRemoves road grime, tar, and iron particles using both a clay bar and a dedicated tar remover as well as an iron remover that chemically neutralized iron particles that may be on the surface of the paint.

  2. Paint inspection and test sectionBefore we begin any correction work, we perform a thorough paint evaluation using a paint thickness gauge. This allows us to:

  • Measure the depth of your clear coat

  • Identify previous repairs or inconsistencies in the paint

  • Determine how much clear coat can be safely removed before polishing

  • From there, we assess the level of correction needed, whether it's a light enhancement single-stage correction, 2 stage or a more intrusive multi-stage correction, to achieve a finish you'll be truly satisfied with, without compromising the integrity of your paint. This step ensures we're restoring gloss and removing swirls or scratches safely, efficiently, and with precision.

  1. Polishing stagesAfter identifying the level of correction needed, we will use a combination of abrasive compound and polish for a multistage correction or if its a single stage correction, we will opt for a fine diminishing abrasive finishing polish.

  2. Paint protectionOnce the paint is all polished up and looking great again, we lock in the look and improve the gloss a bit more with a ceramic coating or ceramic sealant.

Why Polish your Paint?

If you care about your car’s appearance or plan to sell, show it or keep it forever, paint correction can increase both the curb appeal and may help the resale value.

Think about this:

  • Do you want your car to look brand new again?

  • Tired of seeing those annoying swirl marks/ spiderwebbing every time you wash it?

  • Want a mirror-like finish that turns heads?

Common Questions:

“How long does paint correction take?”
It depends on the vehicle size and damage level, anywhere from a few hours, up to 2 days.

“Can paint correction remove ALL scratches?”
As much as we'd love to make it 100% perfect, its simply not possible to remove ALL scratches without running into clear coat failure down the road. Rule of thumb when dealing with scratches is, if you can catch it with your fingernail, its most likely too deep to polish it out. We remove light to moderate scratches and imperfections. Deep scratches may require touch-up or respray.

"What Is Clear Coat Failure?"

Clear coat failure is the breakdown or peeling of the transparent protective layer that sits on top of your car’s paint. This layer is designed to shield the color coat from UV rays, oxidation, moisture, and contaminants but when it degrades, it begins to peel and flake, leaving the paint underneath exposed and vulnerable.

"How Does Clear Coat Failure Happen?"

Clear coat failure usually starts as dull, hazy spots or patches. Over time, it can flake, bubble, or peel entirely.

Common causes include:

  • Prolonged UV exposure (sunlight breaks down the chemical structure)

  • Lack of regular maintenance

  • Harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners

  • Automatic car washes with rough brushes

Once the clear coat starts to fail, it can't be repaired with polishing or detailing, it often requires sanding and repainting the affected panels.
